World Fantasy Convention drawings

Last year at the World Fantasy Convention in Saratoga Springs, NY, a bunch of us illustrators were sitting around a big round table just drawing from our imagination for fun and that's exactly what it was, FUN! This kind of free-spirited drawing from imagination is like taking your brain to a day spa. I guess since we all used to draw without purpose or restrictions when we were children, it brings back that feeling of being a kid without the responsibilities we have as adults. Just lots of fun. We highly recommend it!

Great dragons! Another reason I admire you both so much. Public drawing; I find it more terrifing than public speaking, and yet you still deliver the magic!

I'm with you there Patrick, though you did some fabulous public demos and speaking at IlluxCon!

I think I love looking at drawings more than paintings sometimes. They tell so much about the way an artist thinks. The way the spine of Julies' dragon fades as it goes back or the way Boris illuminated his dragon and rider. Those thoughtful considerations demonstrate principles that shed light on the process of creating these lovely renderings. Love your website by the way. Greg

I would have loved to be a fly on the wall during that sit-down! Well, better than a fly on the wall would be a human at the table. Yes, I think I would prefer that. Flies have to barf to eat, and I don't think that's something I would enjoy. Thank you for sharing!

Thanks, you guys! And we're also glad that Amy isn't a fly.

Your drawings are one of the most exciting things I've ever seen. I hope these paintings help me to find an inspiration. Thank you for showing!
